Alpine skiing and snowboarding, like many other sports, involve high level of risk. The Rules of the International Ski Federation (Fédération Internationale de Ski) FIS (White Code of Alpine Skier and Snowboarder) is an ideal model of behavior for skiers or snowboarders who think not only of their own safety during skiing, but also of those riding nearby on the slope.
FIS rules apply to all skiers and snowboarders. Responsible skier or snowboarder, who is aware of gravity of possible situations must know and follow these rules. If they fail to do so, legislative bodies may consider their conduct in an accident as violation of civil and criminal law.
